“And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.” Job 42:10

"Order my steps in thy
word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me." — Psalm 119:133
This
is a righteous prayer and a right desire. If one's steps are guided by God's
Word, no iniquity or sin will have dominion over the believer. However, the
psalmist knows that he cannot walk the right path on his own, so he asks the
Lord to order his steps.
This
is the desire and prayer of every believer's heart.
Such a prayer will not go unanswered, for we are asking for something that the Lord desires to give. We are also praying to prevent something that God hates—sin—from having power over us.

Let My Heart Be Blameless…
"Let my heart be
blameless regarding Your statutes, that I may not be ashamed." — Psalm
119:80
Once
again, the psalmist asks for the right thing: a blameless heart. He knows that
having a blameless heart will leave him with no reason to be ashamed.
A
blameless heart is one that longs for holiness, seeks the Lord, hates sin,
loves the Word of God, and allows God's Word to dwell within.
Anyone
with such a heart will have no reason to be ashamed. A person with a blameless
heart will not be condemned by their conscience, knowing that they are living
according to their faith. They will also have no reason to be ashamed in front
of others—unbelievers will not be able to say, "What kind of believer is
this? Unbelievers behave better than him!" Moreover, such a person will
not be ashamed at the coming of Jesus. Having boldly confessed Jesus before
others, they will be confessed by Jesus before the Father.
This
is the desire of every child of God: Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes.

"Let
those that fear thee turn unto me, and those that have known thy
testimonies." — Psalm 119:79
A
God-fearing person desires the company of those who also fear God. A lover of
God's Word delights in communicating with those who know and cherish His Word.
The
presence of those who fear God and know His Word is a blessing in the life of
every believer. Fellowship with them brings edification, as they love to speak
about the same topics: God's Word, God's works, and God's love. They share the
same desire—to grow in sanctification and bring glory to God with their lives.
They hate the same things: sin and falsehood. They walk the same path, the
narrow way of Jesus, and are citizens of the same city—the heavenly Jerusalem.
Like
the psalmist, I long to be surrounded by people who fear God and know His Word.

"Let the proud be
ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate
in thy precepts." — Psalm 119:78
"Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be
ashamed of my hope." — Psalm 119:116
The
psalmist knows he has no reason to be ashamed because his hope is right and
placed in the right Person. If his hope had been in himself or in another
person, he would have reason to be ashamed. He who trusts in the Lord is humble
and obeys His Word, so he has nothing to be ashamed of.
The
proud, on the other hand, rely on themselves, and thus, they will be ashamed.

"Let thy mercies come
also unto me, O LORD, even thy salvation, according to thy word." — Psalm
119:41
"Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy
word unto thy servant." — Psalm 119:76
"Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my
delight." — Psalm 119:77
The
psalmist asks for God's mercy because he knows that salvation comes only from
Him. Salvation is our greatest need, and God's greatest gift. Without God's
mercy, no one can be saved. Therefore, everyone who desires salvation must seek
His mercy.
The
psalmist also asks for comfort, recognizing that true comfort comes from God's
mercy.
He
seeks God's mercy in order to live. Without it, life becomes meaningless and
purposeless.
I,
too, seek God's mercy to live a life that is pleasing to Him—in holiness,
obeying His Word, serving Him, and sharing His mercy with others.
This prayer will surely be answered because it aligns
with God's will, and this desire will surely come true.

Spiritual growth is a gradual process, and true progress requires a life of holiness. Where there is holiness, there is increasing strength. The desire for holy living leads to greater holiness, a heart committed to prayer becomes more fervent, and resistance to sin brings ever-growing strength in the battle against temptation. What a wonderful promise for those with clean hands—they will grow stronger with each passing day.
