“And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.” Job 42:10
Throughout the Holy Scriptures and in our own lives, we have seen many cases where a person prayed for deliverance, and the Lord answered their prayers. This case is remarkable because Job prayed for others and was delivered himself. The Lord turned Job’s captivity when he prayed for his friends, restoring what he had and giving him twice as much as before.
What a wonderful reminder this is of the importance of praying for others. There is no selfishness in such a prayer. When you forget yourself and think about others, God thinks about you.
