Թող Աստված ճշմարիտ լինի, իսկ ամեն մարդ՝ սուտ

«Թող Աստված ճշմարիտ լինի, իսկ ամեն մարդ՝ սուտ» (Հռոմ. 3 :4) :

Երբ Աստծո Խոսքը մի բան է սովորեցնում, իսկ մարդիկ՝ այլ բան, չմոլորվելու համար հիշեմ սա՝ թող Աստված ճշմարիտ լինի, իսկ ամեն մարդ՝ սուտ: Երբ քարոզի ժամանակ լսում եմ մի բան, որը Աստվածաշնչում չկա, հիշեմ, որ Աստված ճշմարիտ է, իսկ ամեն մարդ՝ սուտ: Երբ կարդում եմ Աստծո խոստումները որոնց վերաբերյալ մարդիկ փորձում են կասկած առաջացնել՝  ասելով, որ դա մեր ժամանակների համար չի գրված, հիշեմ, որ Աստված ճշմարիտ է, իսկ ամեն մարդ՝ սուտ: Եթե տարիներով մի բանի եմ հավատացել, բայց հետո տեսնում եմ, որ դա Աստվածաշնչում չկա, թող հիշեմ՝ Աստված ճշմարիտ է, իսկ ամեն մարդ՝ սուտ: Եթե Աստծո Խոսքը ինձ դժվար կամ խիստ է թվում, հիշեմ, որ Աստված ճշմարիտ է, իսկ ամեն մարդ՝ սուտ:

Meditation and obedience

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8

The commandment and promise to Joshua are for all of God's people.

Here is the commandment:  meditate on God's Word.

Here is the frequency of meditation: day and night.

Here is the result of meditation: obedience to God’s Word.

Here is the promise to those who obey: good success.

Meditation must be followed by application. When there is meditation on God's Word in the heart, hands are engaged in God's work, feet are walking in God's ways.

White garments are for overcomers

 

He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Revelation 3:5

 As I read this verse, I was reminded that there is something else to wear before putting on white garments that the Lord promised to overcomers. I can’t wear white garments without wearing it. It is the armor of God. White garments are promised only to the overcomers and victory is not possible without the armor of God.

I cannot put on the garment of righteousness unless I have first put on the breastplate of righteousness. There are various promises in the letters to the seven churches in Revelation, but the condition for receiving them is one: we must overcome.

Those who have put on the armor of God and followed Him in the spiritual battle will walk with the Lord in white garments. Do I want to be among those dressed in white?  Then  I should  stay in military line-up.

I must overcome because I want to be clothed in fine linen of righteousness.

God will fight for you

For the LORD your God is the One who is going with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. Deuteronomy 20:4

I always lose when I fight alone. A huge army of evil forces is fighting against me, countless tricks and cunning strategies of the devil are making my spiritual life difficult, there is no question of truce. There will be no demobilization until Jesus returns. All this might have been discouraging if I had to fight alone. But the Lord is fighting for me, so I will not let the dangerousness of the fight, the huge army of the enemy and his traps scare me, because the battle belongs to the Lord.

Inheritance reserved in heaven

 

‘’To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.’’ (1 Peter 1:4, 5)

An  incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that does not fade away is reserved in heaven for those who are kept on earth by the power of God, not by their own strength. They are kept from sin, and  false teachings, they are kept by the Word of God, in the presence of God. This is an inheritance, it is not a salary, the inheritors did not earn it, it is an inheritance, a gift from their heavenly Father.

It is an inheritance bought with a great price, a rich inheritance, an indescribable inheritance, which eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man., but God has prepared it for those who love Him.

A royal  inheritance  awaits the sons and daughters of the King of Kings.

It is the heritage of the saints, therefore  sanctification  will remain a priority in my life, in my prayers, in my desires.

The Lord of hosts is with me

 

The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. (Psalm 46:7, 11)

This phrase, repeated twice in the psalm, caught my attention and reminded a forgetful person like me of something important.

The Lord of hosts is with us, with His people.

The  Almighty is with me. If He is with me, fear, sin, and worry cannot be with me. Because He is with me, victory over sin is with me, comfort in trouble is with me. Because He is with me, it doesn’t matter who is against me.

The Lord of hosts is with me, what else do I need?

Love the Lord with all your heart

 

You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  Deuteronomy 6:5

Now the most important prayer  topic for me  is to love God with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my strength. Love for God is the greatest sin killer. Without love for God, no matter how much I pray for holiness, I will not have the holiness that is the heavenly original, but I will have the earthly counterfeits.

God loved us first, so He is worthy of love. He deserves to have the first place in my life. He tolerates no rivals, even lawful things must not receive more attention from me than my Lord, how much more sinful things should be despised.

Now I have no more important prayer topic than this: to understand God's love and to love Him with all my heart.

Patience to obtain the promise

 

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. Hebrews 6:15

This is an important reminder for me; it takes patience to receive the promise. The time between the Lord's promise and its fulfillment can be very long, but when a person has patience, during that long period, he will not get tired, he will not put his hope in someone else, he will not limit God's power, he will not doubt His love and wisdom. His eyes will be open to see the fulfillment of the promise, his mouth will be closed to grumbling and negative assumptions, his heart will continue to believe. When patience is there, one patiently waits for the fulfillment of the promise, however delayed the fulfillment of the promise may be. He does not rush and does not try to find solutions on his own. When there is patience, there are no "what ifs". As surely as the Lord is faithful, so surely I will receive the promises written in the Bible.

Abraham waited a long time for the promise to be fulfilled, but he was not disappointed.

God's promises cannot fail, so those who wait patiently cannot be disappointed. Abraham's patience condemns  the hasty spirit, rebukes the complaining  mouth, encourages the patient heart.

I must follow Abraham's example if I want to receive the same blessing, that is, the promise of God.

No one can speak like Jesus

 The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” John 7:46

The officers sent by the Pharisees and chief priests did not obey their order because they heard the words of the One sent from heaven and realized that they had never heard such words.

Many can speak the Truth, but only Jesus can say. "I am the Truth." Many may speak words of wisdom, but Jesus is the Wisdom.

The tax collector heard His words and left his wealth, the fishermen heard His words and left their fishing nets, and followed Him. No one else has words of everlasting life, no one's words can give a new birth, deliver from sin, make a citizen of the Kingdom of heaven.

It is my Saviour, my Lord, my Teacher who speaks those incomparable words. What an honor and a privilege it is to listen to Him like whom no one has spoken, and what a folly to neglect listening to His Words.

The greatest sacrifice, the greatest goal, the greatest privilege

 

Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Titus 2:14

Here is the greatest sacrifice; Jesus gave Himself for us.

Here is the greatest goal; to redeem us from every lawless deed.

Here is the greatest privilege; to be His own special people.  

That’s why we have the greatest joy and the greatest responsibility; to tell everyone about the greatest sacrifice, to glorify the One who sacrificed Himself, and to be worthy of the greatest title; His own special people.
