In the Heart of the Psalmist: A Heart That Is a Storeroom

 

"I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You." (Psalm 119:11)

The psalmist loves God's Word, delights in God's Word. For him, the Word of God is better than gold and silver (Psalm 119:72, 127). He keeps it in the right place, in his heart. The best storehouse for God's Word is the heart. When the Word of God is kept in the heart, the heart is kept from sin.

Every child of God can say the same.

Here is something I love – God’s Word.

Here is something I hate – sin.

To avoid what I hate, I need to keep what I love in the right storeroom – my heart.
