Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, And he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him. Proverbs 26:27
This verse is a threat to the wicked who conspire to harm God's children. It is also a comfort to God's children that the Lord will protect them from the plot of the wicked.
Remember Haman and his plot to destroy Mordecai and how it backfired, leading to his own demise on the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai. (Esther 7:9,10).
Remember the officials who conspired against Daniel.They were thrown into the lions' den themselves after their plot was revealed. (Daniel 6:24)
Remember Abimelech who killed seventy of his brothers on a stone. He himself was killed by a stone thrown by a woman. (Judges 9:5, 18,53).
If they are plotting against you, don't be afraid, the Lord will protect you.
