"Make
haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation!" - Psalm 38:22
David
was in great trouble: loved ones and friends had left him, and those who hated
him had multiplied. This sorrow brought fervency to his prayer. He could not tolerate
a delayed answer to prayer; he wanted the Lord to make haste to help him.
When
our only hope is in the Lord, when we do not expect help from anywhere else,
when we cannot accept a negative answer to prayer, we will pray with the same
fervor.
