Learning about God in Psalm 119: God is righteous

 "Righteous are You, O LORD, And upright are Your judgments." - Psalm 119:137

"Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth." - Psalm 119:142

The psalmist had spoken about the wicked who had laid a snare for him, waited to destroy him, about the proud who had forged lies about him and dug pits for him. Yet, he did not despair because the One in whom he trusted is righteous. His works, His judgments, and His commandments are righteous, and His righteousness is everlasting.

In the face of plots by the wicked and deceit by the proud, the psalmist finds solace in the righteousness of the Lord. His confidence rests in the enduring righteousness of God, reflected in His judgments and truth. With the righteous Lord on his side, the psalmist remains steadfast, knowing that the unrighteous schemes of men cannot prevail against the righteousness of God.

In our own lives, we can draw strength from the righteousness of God. His everlasting righteousness is a shield against the snares and deceit of the unrighteous. What can unrighteous men do when the righteous Lord is with us?
