God’s Word in my heart, not just in my notebook

In Solomon's book wisdom blooms so clear;

A warning to his son, but all hearts should hear;

For temptations lurk, not just for youthful souls,

But for us all, where dark temptation strolls.

Not just in my notebook God’s Word will I write

Through prayer and meditation, I’ll write it in my heart,

In trials and temptations, when sin seeks to begin,

The Word within, guards against the grip of sin.

I will meditate on His Word and grace,

Inscribe it deep, let it take its rightful place,

His Word will be a constant Guard in my heart,

A fortress strong, and a mighty rampart.
