"Teach me Thy way, O
LORD; I will walk in Thy truth; unite my heart to fear Thy name." (Psalm
86:11)
David asks the Lord to teach him His way, not merely
to acquire knowledge but to walk in that very way. Knowledge becomes meaningful
when applied, so learning must precede our journey. We need
a teacher for learning, and only God Himself can teach us His way. The psalmist offers a right prayer,
"Teach me Your way," and this prayer leads to the right decision:
"I will walk in Your truth."
It's
impossible to walk in God's truth unless we learn from Him.
